How Heimdall stopped guessing which parts of the business were actually profitable
Three years ago, HEIMDALL was running on QuickBooks: expensive, and hard for anyone outside accounting to actually use. Moving to BrandDrive gave the team a system everyone could read, and a clear view of where the money was really coming from.
QuickBooks did the job, technically. But it wasn't built for a team like ours. If you weren't an accountant, you were lost. We needed something the whole team could actually use, not just finance.

Challenge
Before BrandDrive, HEIMDALL ran its finances on QuickBooks: issuing invoices, tracking expenses, and trying to understand project profitability across a growing roster of client work. QuickBooks did the job, but it came at a real cost, both in subscription fees and in usability. It was built for accountants, and HEIMDALL's team wasn't one.
The bigger problem wasn't just cost. It was visibility. With client work spread across multiple service lines, HEIMDALL had no clear, simple way to see which parts of the business were actually making money and which weren't. Some services were quietly costing more to deliver than they were bringing in, and without a clear breakdown, that wasn't obvious until much later, if at all. The issue wasn't a lack of effort. It was that no part of the business was actually talking to any other part.

Solution
HEIMDALL moved to BrandDrive to handle invoicing, expense tracking, and project profit tracking in one place, accessible to the whole team, not just finance.
With profit and accounting statements built into the same system as day-to-day project work, HEIMDALL could finally see, clearly, which arms of the business were performing and which weren't pulling their weight. That visibility led directly to a decision: stop offering a service line that was costing more to deliver than it was earning, rather than continuing to absorb the loss without realizing it. Three years in, the recently added Projects feature has become one of the team's favourites, giving a direct line between client work and the profit it actually generates.
