How to Use BrandDrive Offline POS to Sell Without Internet

How to use BrandDrive offline mode to process checkouts, track cash or transfers, and automatically sync your data when the network returns.

How to use BrandDrive offline mode to process checkouts, track cash or transfers, and automatically sync your data when the network returns.

At BrandDrive, we believe that poor network coverage or sudden internet downtime shouldn’t dictate when you can make a sale.

With the BrandDrive Offline POS feature, you can continue processing transactions, selecting catalog items, and issuing digital or print receipts completely offline. Your checkout process works exactly as expected, and your data remains safe. The moment your connection is restored, the system automatically synchronizes your data with your main dashboard.

Quick Summary: How to Sell Offline with BrandDrive

1.      Open the POS: Tap the Point of Sale icon on your quick-access row to automatically cache your catalog.

2.      Monitor the Indicator: Look for the status indicator at the top of your screen (Green = Online, Grey = Offline).

3.      Select Sale Type: Choose between a Standard Sale (using your pre-loaded catalog) or a Quick Sale (manual price input).

4.      Log the Payment: Record the transaction via cash, bank transfer, other POS, or credit note.

  1. Sync Automatically: Reconnect to the internet to instantly push your Pending Sync orders to your main dashboard

Step-by-Step: Accessing Your Offline POS from the Dashboard

Step 1: Initialize the Point of Sale (POS) Client

From your BrandDrive dashboard, look at the quick-access row of features. This is where you will find options like Expense, Product, Sales, and Invoice sitting side by side. Point of Sale is on that same row, just below the Create Wallet option. Tap or click on it to open your POS.

The first time you open the POS section, a download will begin automatically in the background. This is what enables the offline feature. You do not need to do anything; just wait for it to complete. Once it is done, everything looks the same as before. The only difference is that your POS can now work without an internet connection

Step 2: Identify Your Network Status Indicator

Once inside the POS dashboard, keep an eye on the small status circle sitting directly next to the notification bell icon at the top of your screen:

  • Green Indicator: Your device is actively online and connected to the server.

  • Offline State: If your internet connection drops, this indicator updates immediately to keep you informed. Your product catalog remains fully interactive.

How to Process a Sale When Your Internet Is Down

How to Process a Sale When Your Internet Is Down

When a customer is standing in front of you and the network fails, you can seamlessly process their checkout using one of two methods:

Method A: The Standard Sale

Browse your local product catalog, select the items your customer wants to purchase, set the exact quantities, and click Continue. This mirrors the online workflow perfectly.

Method B: The Quick Sale

If you are selling a custom item not yet saved to your inventory, or if you simply need to move as fast as possible, select the Quick Sale option. Manually enter the price, add an optional brief description, determine if standard VAT rules apply, and save before advancing.

Step 3: Review the Receipt Preview

After clicking Continue, a complete receipt preview will populate on your screen. Verify the system-generated order number, quantities, and item pricing before moving forward to collect payment.

Step 4: Choose Your Offline Payment Method

Select how your customer is settling the bill. BrandDrive supports four offline payment record types:

  • Cash

  • Bank Transfer

  • Other POS Devices (if processing via an external hardware terminal)

  • Credit Note

Select the corresponding method and confirm. The transaction is instantly locked into your device's offline memory.

Managing and Syncing Your Offline Transactions

5. Review "Pending Sync" Orders

Once a transaction is finalized, you will return to the main POS screen. Tap on the View Saved/Offline Orders option.

Here, you will see an itemized list of every sale completed during the network outage—showing dates, customer names, and total amounts. The status for these items will read Pending Sync, giving you complete operational visibility even while totally disconnected.

6. Automatic Data Synchronization

The best part of the BrandDrive offline mode is that you don't have to upload anything manually. The exact moment your device detects a stable internet connection, BrandDrive securely pushes all cached data to your live cloud records. Your inventory counts update, your financial analytics refresh, and your sales reports adjust perfectly without you lifting a finger.

Why Your Sales Shouldn’t Depend on Your Network Provider

Whether you run a high-traffic retail shop in a busy market, operate in areas with unpredictable signal strength, or just want insurance against unexpected router failures, your checkout counter must stay open.

Log in to your BrandDrive account today to explore the POS module and make sure your offline cache is ready to protect your next sale.
